If these characters appear in different fandoms as the same character, then they count as the one canonical character here, too. You can of course use them in all the fandoms they appear in with anyone you like; just not in a repeat pairing. (Multiverse and crossover pairings are very welcome here!)
Mhm! I figured I'd ask since I wasn't sure if anyone would be a stickler for that, but since this is a very "You are responsible for knowing what's specific to canon/same character." I figured I'd ask to double check! Mostly because FF8 version is a complete version of the character, whereas Dissidia's version is presumably fragments of some aspects of their journey, but mostly being overrun with being shaped by this (Dissidia's) universe.
