100ships | Hello sailors

Time for another chat post!

It's been over six months now since

100ships launched, and we collectively have created 211 works in 116 fandoms in the Ao3 Collection (and I know there have been one or two people not posting there, too). *\o/*

As we have very few repeat-ships tagged on AO3, it seems likely that's also pretty nearly 211 or more distinct ships, which is amazing! If my maths is up to it (and it often isn't), we've covered 78 of the prompts - the most popular being #1 Adamant with 9 uses. In short: multi-shippers, as you were, carry on; you're fabulous. ♥

Anyway, how is it going? This is a social post for people who want it to chat to each other in the comments, so have at it.

Anyone running out of steam and needing a bit of cheering on/poking? Stuck for your next ship? What to do for that one awkward prompt? Want to try different media?

100ships finally gave me the excuse/push to write a little Eleven/Clara fic, as I've had the itch to do it for ages!

So far I'm enjoying this and I've been trying to share it with others that I know. Gonna see how far I can get. Right now I'm a bit busy because of work and other projects so I might slow down on updates for a while. Also making it a bit of a challenge to fill prompts that haven't been filled yet because I like filling out the prompt list. It's satisfying.

I accidentally did it today - I had a choice between two prompts and then realized I could fill one that hadn't been filled yet (Lime.)

It's going to be interesting once I get through my usual relationships and fandoms, and have to think about other ones that I haven't considered yet. :D

Indeed. We'll either see a lot of rare ships or rare fandoms, I imagine!

In my case it'll likely be less-rare ships, considering that I tend to gravitate towards rarepairs. XD

Also it helps that I'm in another event that somehow shares a lot of prompts with this one. This was not planned but it's worked out for me. (It's also why so many of my items here are poly relationships, since that's the other event's target!)

That's always very handy when it happens!

I needed a rest period in January so I've been mostly quiet with only my Sand prompt posted early Jan as I started it mid to late December. And I've used half/most of February to dedicate time to Femslash February (of which I am very much behind but do intend to keep doing) but I feel like I'm picking up speed for this challenge again as I posted Desert to Ao3 last week sometime I think?? And I just finished a prompt fill for Red, I'll post it to Ao3 this afternoon and I'll post a bundle of my last five prompt fills to this journal sometime today as well. Aside from work, the only thing stopping me from posting Red now is the fact its still untitled.

I've also got a prompt fill for Pickle started (I actually started it before I started Red but whoops, I was just on a roll with Red). But yeah!! Pickle was another of those prompts I was like. What do I do with you? I was very tempted to scrap it and do a choice of my own but I suck as hard as filling my own prompts so trying not to. But then my mind went "pickle -> fast food -> burgers -> hotdogs -> hotdogshipping my beloved!!!" Hotdogshipping being the name for Yusaku/Shoichi from Yugioh Vrains. After Pickle... Well, not too sure, I have plenty of ideas jotted down for plenty of prompts but its weirdly unappetizing. We'll see! Anyway I'm 45-46 fills and continuously blow myself away remembering that.

Its interesting to see that as a body of work, not all 100 prompts have been done yet and that Adamant is the most popular fill! Adamant is one of the prompts which has me stumped. Still, excellent work everyone, I'm cheering you guys on, I try to read and kudos what is in my sphere of media consumption to show support :D

Four more have been used since I made this post! But, yeah, I think there's a human tendency, even when not going in order, to look at things at the beginning and end of any given list (#100 has 4 uses).

Adamant for me is a funny one, because while I don't know what I'll use it for in the end, I have an obvious contender in one of my tiny old fandoms, as it's called Adam Adamant Lives! (and I have a ship in it).

But idk, someone is being adamant about something? The prompt is adamant it's not going to come easy? Good luck. XD

Thanks so much! And I think your right, I do think there is a neatness to going in order but looking at where I'm keeping the prompt table and deleting the ones I've done, I've got a huge bias for picking from the middle lolol

And good luck for your Adamant one! Adamant makes me think of Adaman from Pokemon and I do have an Adaman ship too so hmmm much to think about :)

Very random, but presumably some kind of spam! You should be able to freeze/screen/delete as you please on your entry, but I can also do it as mod if you'd like me to.

(I mean, unless it makes sense within the context of your fandom? But I'd assume if that were so, you wouldn't be asking the rest of us!)
