Heisenberg winced at the light of the cheap lamp over the desk doubling its intensity, its heat on his forehead. He squinted up at it - and found that he did so unto quite the lack of expected shade.

In front of him, like there was not a thing to it, Lucas turned his freshly-swiped hat on his own head as if he were trying on the fit of it in a mirror. He snickered, his nose crinkling; twisted aside to pick a cigar out of its tin.
