Welcome to 100ships everyone!

I'm thisbluespirit, your mod. Hello and welcome all, and thanks so much for taking the plunge and joining in - and even posting works already! *\o/* I didn't know if anyone else would be up for a multishipping challenge, so I'm delighted to find there's a whole bunch of us around.


Use this post to introduce yourself (or not; there is no obligation to be sociable to complete the table!) and share how you're aiming to go about filling the table, if you've got any plans or strategies in mind - challenges you're doing in combination or if you're trying to do it in a specific way, like one ship per fandom, or multiship your way through one fandom, or let your Little Black Dress character get around even more than usual. Any prompts seem especially tempting or tricky? What media are people planning to work in?


(For me, I just wanted something to give me a kick to write a few more ships, especially some that I've been meaning to get around to and thought, "Wouldn't it be great if there were a comm like 100fandoms, but for ships, and then I'd have an excuse?" So, that's what I'm planning to do, and it probably will be fic, though I do also enjoy icon-making and sometimes other things, too. And here we all are.)

Hi! Thanks for making this comm, I've been in such a writing slump for literally years but always have a look when a new prompt comm appears, and I'll admit at first I really didn't like the look of the table at all, but having given it chance I love it!

My initial plan was to probably write pretty small pieces (as in drabble length) for most of the fills and I started my first with that in mind, but it's already turned into a much bigger thing, so now I'm just gonna do whatever. I didn't realise we could use other media though, and I do love creating playlists and moodboards so there maybe a few of those as well as fics.

As for my plans for ships I currently have a list of 50, once I've done those guess I'll start mixing and matching or looking more deeply into things I already watch. At the moment my list is mostly from British fandoms and anything with Peter Capaldi in.

I started my first with that in mind, but it's already turned into a much bigger thing, so now I'm just gonna do whatever.

And, ha, yes, I know that feeling! In my head, my fills are going to be mainly ficlets - in reality they'll probably be c.1-2k min and take me forever. *fistbump of commiseration*

Anyway, sounds as if you have some good plans there, and I look forward to seeing the fruits of them. And playlists and moodboards are definitely cool options, as are multiples of Mr Capaldi.

Hi, my name is Sara and I have so many ships it would be wrong of me NOT to do this challenge. I've been in a bit of a writing slump for the past few weeks but have written two pieces already, so I think this could be the key to getting me back on track.

My fandom list is pretty varied, but there's a ton of Fire Emblem on it. Especially Three Houses.

Hello! I'm Pike and I really only have a handful of ships (and one OTP) but I've been looking for a good challenge to branch out with so I figured, what the hell. I'm in fandom for yuri and femslash and I love magical girls most of all.

Anyway, thanks for making this challenge! I'm excited to give it a shot, since you never know if you don't try.

What the hell, let's do it, is def. a highly valid fandom motto and stretching out a bit is a great thing to try - good luck! (I always look at tables and bingos like this as in, if I create one thing I wouldn't have otherwise done, it's a win. ♥)

Thanks for the comm! :) I'm trying to write 75K words this year for getyourwordsout (after not writing for about a decade), and this is already helping! I'm probably going to throw BTS into many different configurations, and then move on to some other fandoms. *g*

I think I've already written over 100 ships before, but I love prompt challenges. I'm thinking of trying this challenge for the Suikoden series, a game series close to my heart since the 00s and one with over 500 characters, so I think I can pull 100 ships out of that :D

Hi! I've been kind of infamous (at least among my small friend group) for being a big multishipper through my years in fandom, so I thought this would be great inspiration for me. My plan was to make a list of the ships I'm really feeling right now, which is a little over 20. Who knows if I'll get to 100, but at least I have some inspiration for those first stories!

I’m Nigel, and ha, not only do I love using prompts lists and challenges as exercises, but while I do have my favorites, as anyone does (my main fandom is Resident Evil, with Danganronpa being the one I participate in second-most consistently often), I’m a big fan of smaller/more scattered fandoms I always enjoy thinking of things to try to contribute to as well as more uncommon ships - e.x., my OTP is a crossover ship and I am always down to add more crossovers to my to-play-with list, and same goes for thinking of ways “okay I know this is a total crackship but wouldn’t it be cool if these two characters met and bonded over —”, though I do enjoy plenty of canon and fan favorite ships, too!!

The prompt list is definitely going to be a blast to see what I can come up with for - family business kept me a little too scattered this past week to start in on it already, but I already have a couple fills in mind, some longer, though I often tend towards one-shots; I already know at least one thing that I think would be neat to do a fanart fill for, too, and will also have to keep the playlisting option in mind, as I love doing those, as well!

Hello there! I have developed gradually into a committed multi-shipper over the years after starting out with very few specific OTPs in a couple fandoms. These days, I'm much more likely to have a go at writing or reading a ship that I've never considered before if the dynamic appeals to me or even just the novelty value. The fandoms I've spent the most time in are BtVS and HP, but I also read/write for The Hunger Games, The Blacklist, Pride and Prejudice, The Good Place, MASH, and Dr Who, as well as a bunch of smaller fandoms. When I saw this challenge, I started off by writing a list of ships I could potentially write across fandoms and was surprised at how quickly I got to 100, so that's encouraging!

I don't really have a strategy in terms of length of fic or anything, I'll just see how it works out as I go along. I like to use challenges like this to help me get writing again when I feel like I've been in a bit of a slump. I tend to have periods of incredible activity followed by periods of barely any writing at all, so I'll probably be in and out a bit before I can finish the challenge.

Thanks for setting this up, I'm really looking forward to seeing what people come up with!

This will probably take me years as well but I don't mind, it'll be fun! I do plan to multiship my way through one series, Simoun. Which doesn't have that many characters so... lots of femslash and polyships will be involved.

Thanks for designing the challenge! I love picking up ships from the mainstream to the rare, so when I saw the challenge, I was hooked on sight! I wasn't planning on starting yet, because I have work and said I'd draw out 100Fandoms instead—

Anyway, I wrote one anyway 😅 and am already planning another. So the future is bright! xD
