Welcome to
100ships, a multifandom challenge comm where the aim is to create 100 different fanworks featuring 100 different relationships.

All types & categories of ships are welcome. There are no claims and no time limit on the challenge. Just copy the table to somewhere convenient and get started.
This is shamelessly based on
100fandoms and
51pluscrossoverfandoms (writing challenges), but all fanworks are welcome.
You don't need a Dreamwidth account. There is an AO3 collection for posting, and anon commenting is on here for any questions & announcing completion. If you want an account in order to post, it's free to sign-up.
Anyone who completes the challenge will receive a banner.
Rules
1. Copy/post the table to somewhere convenient to you, create fanworks for each prompt and have fun multi-shipping. There are no minimums and maximums. As long as your work is complete and comprehensible and visible/audible, it counts. You can write in any language (although the info in the linking post here should be in English).
2. Be kind. No hatespeech, harassment, trolling or ship/character bashing. (If writing RPF, please be sensitive - i.e. avoid non-famous/underage living people or serial killers/war criminals etc. current/within living memory etc.)
3. Post your work wherever you usually do and link back here to the work. Please use header info (e.g. Creator, Pairing, Fandom, Title, ratings, Summary, Notes/Warnings & prompt used). There's a template below, but you can use the AO3 share feature instead or any similar formatting that you prefer.
You can add existing fandom and prompt tags to your entry when posting. Mods will create new tags for you as needed.

Guidelines
♥ All types, ratings, categories of ships are welcome, romantic, platonic, queerplatonic, slash, femslash, het, poly, gen, familial, friendship, canonical, non-canonical, crossover, crack, rare pairs, randomised pairings, juggernauts, RPF, etc. etc.. It's up to you!
♥ Each fill must be created for the challenge and focus on a different ship using a different combination of canon characters each time. You can't create for the same character combination twice, even if one is platonic and the other romantic, or the second is an AU.
♥ You can ship canon characters with OCs if you choose, although only once per character (i.e. you can write A/OC, but not also A/Another OC or A/OC/OC, but you can use B/OC, C/OC.) Minor characters, mentioned/implied characters or widely accepted in the fandom fanon/canon OCs count as regular canonical characters.
♥ Same-actor character combinations are fine and count as different pairings, as do canonical alternate versions of characters. (A/B and A/B's Evil Clone count as separate ships, as does A/B, A/B's Evil Clone/B.) Versions of characters across adaptations would count as separate.
♥ Approach the table however you want - write any mix of pairings you like! You could combine it with
100fandoms and write your 100 OTPs from 100 different fandoms, or 100 pairings from one fandom, 100 crossover pairings, 100 randomly generated pairings or requests, 100 different pairings involving your favourite character, or your OTP + 99 different additional poly options, or any sort of variation you please. It's up to you.
♥ Prompts can be interpreted as widely as you choose, and you can combine them with any other prompts, challenges, fests, bingos you like (as long as the other fest also allows it).
100 Ships Prompt Table
Table code for claims:
♥ Part of the fun of challenges like these is working through the same prompts together, but if a prompt or prompts is distressing to you or you would prefer some creator's choice options, you can just replace it/them. (Up to 10 max.)
The prompts are taken from colour names, so select a new one from a colour list like this. Swap the prompt(s) out on your table before you start writing, and stick to the swapped version you've chosen. (Don't forget to check you haven't picked a duplicate prompt!)
When posting fills written for swapped prompts use the tag: "prompt: creator's choice".
If you have any other queries, please ask here or contact the mod via PM. Anon commenting is on.

Date: 2021-08-27 09:50 am (UTC)So, you have your 4 (soon to be 5!) fills ready at AO3. Go into the first work, click the share button on the top right and & copy the coding from the text box it gives you.
Open up a new post here at
Then c+p the AO3 coding into the post (but switch to html editor first or the code just comes out as code). Repeat for each work and then click the post button at the bottom. (There's a preview function so you can check the formatting came out all right before you post.) No need to worry about tags unless you want to - they're v basic here, and I can add them with my modly powers.
If any of that is still a bit weird right now, it's fine to just link back in the comments here to record your progress, or to simply post to AO3 and then let me know here when you've done. (Posting to the comm is great and you are very welcome to do so, but it is optional if you'd prefer not to.)
If for any reason, the above doesn't work out and you do want to post to the comm, I could always make your first works post for you until you've got the hang of it, if you give me the links. But it isn't as complicated as writing all that out made it sound - I'm sure once you've poked about a bit and worked out where the functions are, you'll be fine!
If you don't want to use the AO3 share feature, there's an example posting template above you could use as a header instead - c+p, fill in the relevant details for each fanwork & paste in the link; rinse and repeat. I find the AO3 share feature is quicker for me, but whichever works best for you!
I hope that makes sense? If you've any further questions, just ask. (I also find that if I don't know how to do things on Dreamwidth, googling "how to do x on Dreamwidth" usually gets me straight to their instructions as well, if that's helpful on general site things as you get used to it.) ♥
